Hello families

I’m so excited to introduce myself as the Merriwa ESC school chaplain! My name is Sam, and I feel so grateful to be part of this wonderful community.

As chaplain, my role is all about supporting the wellbeing of our students, families, and staff. I’m passionate about school being a safe, inclusive community not just for our students, but also for our families. As a special needs parent myself, I understand some of the complexities our families face, and I know how powerful a supportive school community can be. If you haven’t met me yet, please come and say hi and have a chat! I love getting to know our families and am here as a support for you and can be a listening ear when you need. A little about me outside of school: I love camping and baking, and more recently have started Tennis lessons (it’s never too late, right?). I’m happiest when I’m spending time with my husband and our two girls (8 and 6 years old). On weekends I volunteer in a special needs children’s program, and I love getting out in the sunshine and in nature. I’m really looking forward to getting to know more of our amazing families this year.
